Laboratorium / Activities |
| |
The activities of Troubleyn/Laboratorium can be divided into four parts:
| |
a/ rehearsal space for Jan Fabre
| |
b/ place for creations by young artists Troubleyn/Laboratorium is a small but dynamic theatre laboratorium, where young artists can produce work with roots in the plastic arts, performance art or dance.

c/ research laboratory Troubleyn/Laboratorium is also a place where artists and researchers (academic or otherwise) can meet and exchange ideas. The intention is to help work on the development of theatre in general by focusing on the debate on theatre and theatrical experimentation. For this reason Troubleyn/Laboratorium is meant to be an independent research laboratory, a sort of refuge where experiments can be carried out without the need to create a production, where new theatre forms can be tested and, above all, where failure is possible without fear. In order to achieve this, the Troubleyn Theatre will cooperate with external partners.

d/ Teaching & training Over the last 20 years Jan Fabre has developed a number of strategies regarding the body in order to be able to train his actors and dancers. Troubleyn/Jan Fabre is now teaching these Fabre techniques to professional performers in workshops.
In order to organise additional research- and trainingsessions, we will collaborate with the recently founded structure 'Laboratrorium' (Charlotte Vandevyver, researcher at Univ. Antwerp)
