Orgy of Tolerance

During the creation of Orgy of tolerance in the fall of 2008, the first financial crisis broke out: the over-consuming, the bankruptcy of sexuality and the greedy, self-destructing Western liberal economy were the main themes of this production.

The analysis of capitalism by Herbert Marcuse in the sixties is, more than forty years later, still to the point and had to be brought to the attention of the current generations. As usual Fabre chooses his aesthetics carefully and relates these to the content of his performances: for Orgy of tolerance he chose for the immediate punch in the face. With absurdist and sour Monty Pythonesque humor the nine thoroughbred Fabre performers sketch out the ruling “everything is possible, everything is allowed” mentality. Orgy of tolerance along with Sweet Temptations, Universal Copyrights and As long as the world needs a warrior’s soul belongs to Fabre’s most outspoken socially critical and political performances.
