In 2019, the renowned Boshoi Drama Theatre celebrated its centenary. Artistic director Andrej Moguchi invited Jan Fabre to close the festive program as a special guest.
The mini-festival ‘LOVE IS THE POWER SUPREME’ presented a wide view on the artistic work of Jan Fabre. The Festival openened with the photo exhibition and video installation THE WARRIORS OF BEAUTY by the French artist Pierre Coulibeuf. Troubleyn/Jan Fabre: presented 3 performances: the creation of the monologue RESURREXIT CASSANDRA, the dance solo PREPARATIO MORTIS, and the creation of THE NIGHT WRITER. The Russian Version, the first repertoire play of Jan Fabre in Russia.
The Hermitage Museum also joined the Festival. They celebrated the presence of Fabre in Saint Petersburg with the screening of the film Love is the power supreme , which Fabre shot at the Hermitage Museum in 2016. This film was shown all day long , on Saturday December 7th, on the Palace Square of the museum.
Jan Fabre had the honour to sign with his name the ceiling of the honorary dressing room in the Bolshoi Theatre, amidst masters such as Edward Albee and Sir Laurence Olivier.
