Giornale Notturno (1978–2012) is a translation of Belgian dramatist Jan Fabre’s original Night Diaries and texts. Edoardo Callegari curated a selection of these writings, which are translated into English and performed by the acclaimed Italian artist Carolina Migli Bateson.

Giornale Notturno is a visionary and disarming hymn by the artist Jan Fabre, offering an intimate and provocative journey through his life, from youth to the present day. His personal diaries merge into an autobiography that contrasts his daily experiences—rich with impressions, sensations, art, performances, exhibitions, and projects—with the intensity of his nocturnal world, which is even more intimate, overwhelming, and charged with creative fury. These pages explore the role of the body, both spiritual and material, cultural and visceral. The body is depicted in dance, as a medium for art, a vessel of thoughts, blood, and the eternal cycle of birth, death, and rebirth—infused with reflections on life and love. In this world premiere, Fabres latest published diaries, never before presented on stage, will also be explored.

A unique visual art element created by Svetlana Golubeva (Inthegardendesign) will be featured in the presentation.

"Art is the impossible measurement
to know a possibility."
